ECINEQ PhD Workshop – Call for papers
ECINEQ PhD Workshop
CALL FOR PAPERS
We are inviting applications for the ECINEQ PhD Workshop, which will take place on July 7, 2021, the day before the ninth meeting of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ), hosted by the London School of Economics (July 8 to July 10, 2021). The PhD Workshop will take place online. It will bring together PhD students and leading scholars in the field, building community and creating a rich environment for dialogue. PhD students will present a paper, and receive feedback from a PhD discussant, senior scholars, and fellow workshop participants.
Senior academics participating include Francisco Ferreira, Frank Cowell and Stephen Jenkins. The format is a 25-minute presentation followed by 20 minutes for feedback, questions, and a panel discussion. The workshop will be divided into thematic sessions.
The workshop is ideal for PhD students at an advanced stage of research. It provides an opportunity to present a paper or a chapter, receive feedback, and test ideas and methodologies. We welcome submissions on any aspect of economic inequality, in contemporary or historical settings. We encourage students from all disciplines related to economic inequality to apply, including, but not limited to, economics, economic history, political science, sociology and public policy. As the aim of the workshop is to provide feedback to PhD researchers, we prefer contributions that are not co-authored with established scholars.
To apply, please submit an abstract of your paper or chapter (approx. 500 words), a short CV (including your expected PhD submission date) and an indication of whether you would be available to act as a discussant. The process for paper submissions is via Google Forms: https://forms.gle/
